Because it is 2016! Canada's multiculturalism will only be sustained by the number of groups who are able to experience and share their culture with the wider community.
Mayor Tory & Councillor McMahon, please do all that you can to ensure this festival continues as usual.

Keep the fest 2 days. Toronto promotes diversity so prove it. Other festivals do not get penalized for the noise complaints.

limit the Indie 500 race to one day and the air show at the CNE if you are concerned about noise. But perhaps white men making lots of noise is just life

Please allow Afrofest to continue to run for two days. It is a wonderful festival that cannot showcase the amazing talent that it does in only one day!

Consider how misguided and ignorant this decision is, and rescind it so that the City works for its citizens and guests with vision. You can't slay the air and auto rackets? Leave this beauty be.

This is truly disgraceful, Toronto City council should be ashamed. a handful of complaints vs. the thousands who come to love, enjoy and take part in this beautiful festival - it is very concerning decision which must be reversed.

Afrofest is an amazing celebration of African cultures and music. The fact that the city is targeting this festival again and again goes against the so-called multiculturalism that Toronto trumpets to the world. Do better John Tory, Mary Margaret McMahon and city councillors. We see you.

with all the disruptive festivals we celibate as a city (taste of the Danforth, the air show), it makes no sense that we are limiting this one because of 8 complaints.

In the absence of any evidence or coherent explanation for this situation, the only logical explanation is that Afrofest is held to a different standard that has been established on the basis of racism within the administration.
