The noise level and time over run is no different from that of the Beaches Jazz Festival. I know this as I live 3 blocks away. It could be because the music is African/unfamiliar rather than North American/familiar why it seems so loud and so long to the lovely folks who complained

This is a bias decision against a race of people who have done no wrong and abiding by the city bylaws just like any other festival

My family loves to participate in the two day event. The option of two days is perfect because it allows people who work Saturdays to attend Sunday. There are a number of festivals that can be removed from the spring summer line up, but not a festival that the Parents of Humanity put on is not one. This would be a disservice to our community.

Its non acceptable for the city, who works for the people, to stile the people need for this weekend event to stay a weekend event....its festivals like this that raise the profile and worldliness of the City and shoehorning it only cheapens the City's image and prestige

The decision to reduce this festival to one day is going to have a vastly negative effect on this amazing event. Last year, my bf and I came across Afrofest quite by chance on the Sunday. We both observed that it was a MUCH more enjoyable event than the previous week when were at the same park for the Canada Day festivities. Afrofest was so much fun that we immediately looked up the dates for this year & planned to attend. As for the "noise issue" noted in the following article: https://nowtoronto.com/music/city-downsizes-afrofest-due-to-noise-complaints-toronto/ , our home location is 3 times closer to the park than the Danforth. We weren't overwhelmed with any noise, nor did we even hear any. We didn't even know about the event until the 2nd day when we passed by it. Please do the right thing and allow this to continue to be a 2 day festival. The numbers warrant it. Listen to the voices of the many.

I personally live in a house I own just 3 blocks away from Woodbine park and I welcome Afro Fest the same way I welcome the Beaches Jazz Festival.

We need to maintain and support ctural initiatives in this diverse community we live in. We have an obligation as a diverse community to represent all courses in our community and to expose other to the various foods, music, clothes, etc. Education is key!

This cancellation is unfair and not based on sound evidence. We need to celebrate the diversity of this city and Afrofest should be extended and invested in not attacked and undermined.

Please stop robbing us of the little of our culture that we have left. It's amazing how adjustments and accommodations are made for events like TIFF & PRIDE just to name a few. It's never an easy journey for us. Fighting from arrival still fighting for survival
