The definition of discrimination: “The sound company we employ works with most of the events at Woodbine Park, including Canada Day and Beaches Jazz festival concerts, and use the same sound equipment, crew and sound levels. The volume at Afrofest is no different than at those events but in our case they are being called violations.” - white ally.

There are events at Woodbine park that last longer, meaning the past the hour limit, because these events start late and there are mostly events for youth ppl that go out of control and lots of police have to be around. Afrofest is a cultural and family event!!

Please restore Afrofest to it's full hours for the two days. It ended early this year and that was such a disappointment.

We need to stay strong and not let this setback prevent us from showing our support no matter where the venue will be. Visit www.handsinknead.com

delete There is no room for discrimination in a city with multi-cultural population. This is the only Outdoor Event in Canada with the long history of bringing together various ethnicity to enjoy the richness of African Culture. Africans and the entire supporters of Afrofest have a voice and a voting power that could be exercised if need be. Please let AFROFEST maintain its two-day event to accommodate all attendees with various schedules during this weekend.

My mind came across this years Afro fest 2016 I go every year! And I was looking forward to going & I go on Facebook to see you guys wanting to close down Afro fest because of noise!!! Seriously. Why do you guys hate Africans so much. Without Africans y'all won't even have Starbucks because we are the riches. But when we are trying to come together and see different parts of the world it's killing you guys. This is supposed to be a multicultural city. No one ever died at Afro fest before??? But you guys are complaining about noise. How about Carribana that happens every year; people die every year because of that. It's crazy how this world is ending hating on blacks but yet are the ones who love black culture. I pray it happens this year if not I'm definitely protesting over this.

This is a great festival that connects the city to the very birthplace of music.

For years Afrofest as been 2 days and we want it to continue. Just because it's an African celebration doesn't mean that the city should discriminate. We want the TWO day celebration... if not, drop every celebration to ONE day. You All use the same company for sound n all anyways... Keep the 2 days!! Thank you and may God protect Afrofest!!!!
