Support Plymouth Neighborhood and Historic Preservation

Keep downtown comfortable and sight friendly.

It appears the DDA is ignoring a primary goal of the City's Master Plan which is "to preserve and enhance the strong, vibrant residential neighborhoods". Parking is being placed on top of the priority list instead of preservation of historical buildings and historic residential neighborhoods.

A few extra parking spots are not worth destroying history. Should not even consider this! Terrible idea. Keep your claws out of residential areas!

I sincerely doubt that this is necessary.

I do live in Plymouth, in Kellogg st. Keep it residential.

As a life-long area resident who spent most of my growing up years in Plymouth I find what is happening deplorable. We lose our history and its lost forever..for what? Parking???

People do not move to Plymouth or come to Plymouth for parking. They come for its charming downtown. The short-sightedness of previous councils to allow so much expansion without considering the parking issues should not be taken out on cornerstones of the community.

You are running the risk of wrecking what makes plymouth nice in the first place.

I was born and raised in Plymouth. You've ruined the beauty that was Plymouth, and need to realize you need to preserve, not destroy, the historic buildings that give Plymouth the little charm it has left. I'm appalled a the City Commission's actions.

I strongly oppose tearing these historic buildings down and creating a parking lot. My family has historic ties to the Saxtons building and I also live in the neighborhood and I am really sad that there have been 2 homes torn down already on Maple. This really devalues the homes in the neighborhood, as well as takes away from the charm of downtown Plymouth.

As a former resident of Plymouth and a Preservation Professional, I vehemently oppose the demolition of these structures.

Please stop taking down buildings that don't need to come down. You are taking away the small quaint town feeling of Plymouth. We live here because of the charm.

The plan for a parking lot adjacent to residential homes is terrible. I'm sure it has been explored and turned down as an idea, but put a parking deck behind the Penn. The DDA is bent on creating additional parking but all this idea does is take away from the downtown area. We do not need another UBS monster building or commercial entity in this area. The existing historical structures should be maintained! Also, Saxtons is a fixture in this area; I don't raised their rent $12K monthly is fair. We certainly don't need another chain retailer in this spot
