I live in Silver Spring Township, Cumberland Valley School District. This land is directly behind my home and I am extremely opposed to this land being sold for any kind of construction. It is protected land and should always remain protected.

Have lived in Silver Spring since 1965, tired of out of town real estate people making money on our long history of open land/farms at the expense of the long time citizens.

I don't live in pa any more but I grew up there. the school system, cv, took the farm my mother's family farmed. they took the whole hill! I realize that they need land for growth, but why take that piece? there has to be other options. who truly wants that land?

Do not allow more farm land and open spaces to be developed for housing and/or industry. Especially land that is protected! Progress is not always a good thing.

CV nor any other organization should have the right to purchase or steal land that is preserved. With this said, I sign this petition in order to stop this from happening.

People are stupid to not think of the future and destroy what little land we have left. Leave it alone. That's the right thing to do and what the original owner's wishes were. Don't be greedy and inhuman just because you can "legally"... Many things that are legal are absolutely not correct, and this is basically stealing land from the people. It's detrimental to humanity to do this. Don't.

I am a 1996 graduate of Cumberland Valley Schools and a 2000 graduate of Cornell University. I strongly oppose developing this land against the recommendations of many governmental authorities. I currently serve on my local school board in New York State and understand the dynamics and complexities of this issue, yet my conscience requires me to support preservation and the public good above the shortsighted approach of the district. There is no viable reason to rush this decision through using eminent domain against the will of the public. It would be an irreversible decision and one that future generations would lament.

More than enough important history has been ruined due to the almighty dollar. Let’s keep what’s significant left.
