I am so sad to hear this. At a time when violence is up in our schools, Scavo has given so many the skills needed to be productive members of society.
Please rethink this decision!

Discussed that this is even an issue! This is where I want the 4000.00 $ a year I pay in property taxes going! Not to bike trails and flowers in medians! This is an investment in not just the young people correctly affected but the community as a whole! Save a dollar today to spend thousands in benifits, law inforcement, jails, homeless shelters, food banks etc later! Come on! This is a no brainer! We figured this out years ago! What happened to investing in our children's future? Discusted!

My daughter endured severe medical issues and without Scavo and their amazing teachers she would have never graduated high school on time, let alone early. Scavo is sincerely needed for our youth to achieve their educational goals and meet the requirements to gain any kind of employment or self sufficiency.

My kid will be a senior next year thanks to scavo but with out them he will be a dropout

I didn’t go to Scavo but I did attend an alternative school and it was the only reason I was able to walk across the stage and accept my diploma. These schools are designed to focus more on the STUDENT and not just a group of 30 kids at a time. Individualized learning is IMPORTANT.

The staff is amazing at Scavo. They really give students the chance to succeed in life and helps them boost their self worth in an amazing atmosphere by helping students know they have choices at Scavo. I have seen this first hand. Please keep this school open for future students who would blossom there.

Scavo is necessary for the Des Moines community as well as the students in Scavo. They provide resources not offered from other DMPS schools.
