I know a lot of people that wouldn't have graduated or learned important skills for their life without this support. Not everyone learns the same. This school gives kids the chance they deserve.

I am 61. Was a straight A student that dropped out due to boredom in regular High School. Teachers at Scavo encouraged me to keep going by challenging me. I know I owe them for keeping me from taking my life in the wrong direction. I know they've done that for many others.

I went to an alternative education setting when I was 17 and pregnant, now 51 and all my kid's grown and successful and owning my own business, the alternative education setting was a Gods sent to me , I cam from a very dysfunctional home and the staff was NEVER judgmental, they were very very caring and did everything they could to get me through, these young mothers like I was myself at one time need this kind of setting to get that education , the daycare is an amazing part of the program, if this setting shuts down it will fail many mother's , and many other students that can thrive through this setting. I went to Des moines Iowa southside alternative and Jim Carnahan was an angel in my life! please do not fail the upcoming struggeling generations . We all are different and we all have different learning curves

This school helped me so much in becoming who I had today . I made a lot of bad choices in life , but the teachers never judged me on what I been through . Rather tried to guide me in the Right path . The biggest inpact on me at scavo was the daycare director Samantha and mr Isaac my English teacher !! This school helps a lot of troubled and even or different people in a lot of good ways.! I appreciate scavo and everything They did to help me .

Met a teenage girl who attends Scavo, who is pregnant, her ultimate goal was to continue her education while pregnant and have her unborn child attend the nursery after she gave birth so she could graduate on time with her class, idk if I could be a teen mom and still want to go, so Scavo is definitely an important school, we NEED to keep it, especially for those young adults with a good head on their shoulders and this mindset!!!

Many people I know wouldn't have been able to complete school without the help of scavo and their wonderful staff. We need to protect our youth and their education!
