I attended scavo twenty-some years ago. I needed scavo to make it to College which I did. My son now attends scavo and he needs it. Please let me know what I can do to help support this

My daughter, who had serious depression, attended West Des Moines’ very fine alternative high school and flourished there making new friends, and good grades that led to the University of Iowa, honors and a bachelor’s degree. Every school district needs alternative high schools for students who learn differently or have challenges at home.

Scavo has to stay open what other hope will these kids have. The school staff have done so much for these kids and still do. The courage, skills and hope they need are here. Can't break the last resource everyone involved have.

I graduated back in 1976 and as a troubled teen I was able to get my diploma and go back and graduate with my original class. It was a very great school with teachers who pushed me to succeed. It would be a shame to loose this school!

I went to Scavo many years ago and it honestly was the only school I would have ever wanted to go to, the staff was so supportive and actually cared for the students! Please do not fail the future students that need a school that helps them

Scavo is an amazing school.
I loved having the alternative to being about to go to scavo instead of Lincoln high school. I was able to focus more one on one with teachers instead of being a such a big class at Lincoln. My grades began to raise and I was able to talk to the teachers more and get the help I needed. Scavo also helped me when my mom passed away with counseling and being in group time with my girls. I went to scavo when it was ok Douglas.
