Both of my children attended this wonderful program. What stuck me about the program is that not only did my children benefit but i saw how much the students working with my kids did as well. It was wonderful to see the "high schoolers" be so kind and relaxed with the young kids. I feel it would be a huge disservice to future students not have the opportunity to participate in this class. We need classes like this. Please keep the program open.
Best regards,
Nancy Bour

As a taxpayer, alumni, and parent of current NH students, I am appalled at the thought that this course could be cut. Courses like this teach students not only about the physical, intellectual, and social development of children but also help to equip students with the tools that they need to make responsible life choices for themselves and any children that they might have in the future. Moreover, Child Development courses help prepare students for one of the toughest jobs they will ever face; becoming a parent. Cutting this course would be a great disservice to our students and the community at large.

I took Trig/Pre-Calc and don't remember anything from it. I didn't even take Child Development and I still remember more from that.
Seriously though, just keep this class. It's insanely useful to students and can help them later in life.

This class teaches things that no other class can teach. I could go on and on but those values should never be taken away from NH.

There are so many courses at NH that teach core subjects like math and English, that all students will then use in different settings and different jobs. Some will go off to become engineers or mechanics, some nurses or secretaries, but a more universal job that most high schoolers will one day have is a parent. This class teaches students about the interactions between a child and an adult, something important both present and in the future for students at North Hills. It would be a shame to see this class go away.

This is a program that should stay at North Hills. It is not only beneficial to the students, but it is a program that helps our community. It's a true win-win.

Mrs. Ziff is AMAZING. She is a fantastic teacher. This program shows a hands-on approach to teaching a foundation for those interested in child development and early childhood education. It should be required not elective education. Keep the program!

If Donna Hauschultz and the Child Development class was.the difference in Sherrie Kovach deciding to become a teacher, and a fabulous teacher she is, then it is a necessary and worthwhile curriculum component.

If it weren't for this class , I would have been so lost on reality when it came to raising my baby girl. Ziff is such a great teacher and it's one of the few classes left that actually teaches the real world lessons

My niece went from being a child in the care of the child development class to being a student in the class years later. It is this class that helped her with her Gold Award project for Girl Scouts and made her want to major in elementary education in college. As a graduate of the class of 2002 I urge the school board to save this class.

I co taught the course with Donna Hauschulz. We taught it with much rigor. Many of our students told us the reason they went into education was due to the experience of working with pre schoolers as a part of the course. Shake it up NH! Try a different teacher perhaps? It's a sad day to loose this course. So many students graduate high school wo a direction toward a career. This course helped to provide students with a direction. So many current NH teachers took the course and became teachers as a result. It must stay as a valued course offering.
