Tommy Moor Lane is an ancient bridleway in the parish of Whitwell - on the Creswell border. The lane is very close to Creswell Craggs - which is an heritage site. The quarry owners are wanting to expand the quarry, diverting this ancient bridleway, destroying all the forna and flora in its way. The Save Tommy Moor Lane Action Committee say this is wrong and we are fighting to save this ancient bridleway.
We need as much support as we can get to save the bridleway as the Secretary of State is to make a decision on the diversion of Tommy Moor Lane later this year.
At 10.00 am on 7 April 2010 at Whitwell Community Centre an Inquiry will be held - would as many people as possible please attend.
The quarry owners continue to ignore our concerns while they plot to destroy this ancient bridleway. Please email your local representative today to demand they protect the land near Creswell Crags. We need to keep the pressure on until they hear us.
January 21, 2010
The momentum behind protecting Tommy Moor Lane is undeniable now. Post this petition link on your Facebook page today to keep the pressure on the quarry owners. We must ensure the Secretary of State sees this public outcry before the final decision.

This is disgraceful. Why do we keep destroying our history just for a bit more stone? Leave the lane alone.

My family has walked that path for generations. Its a piece of our local heritage and the quarry has enough land already. Stop the destruction.
