This is one of my favorite rides and I would be really upset if they closed it down!!

Don't tear this iconic coaster down. Ivworked there for a couple of years and this has always been my favorite and you are doing the wrong thing by getting rid of it.

Really? I am 54 an this was my very first roller coaster ride. And y'all are tearing it down. Don't do this. It's just being stupid. Tear down the hurler.

Don't take Down This historic roller coaster. This is my all time favorite ride and I'm not very fond of rides. This is the only one I will ride. #savethunderroad

Yeah, I intended on just reading a few comments and trusting that Carowinds Management knows what they are doing, but the more I read the more I realize that tearing it down is a HUGE mistake!!!!
That coaster has EARNED it's place right where it is. Not only should they leave it standing, but it also deserves a monument or a plaque honoring it.
I wonder how the designers and builders would feel?

Ok, let me make sure I understand the logic. .so Ghost Rider @Knotts (built in 1998) gets saved for an anniversary. celebration and TR (built in 1976 and is of much greater historical significance) gets leveled. Sorry, I don't see it. Cedar Fair is making a HUGE mistake.

Please do not retire this classic wooden roller coaster. While they are indeed higher-maintenance than other newer types, they are an important part of the Amusement Park landscape and hold a special place in the overall story. We should be looking to preserve these rides, not retire them. As an advocate for Playland in Rye, NY where we have the classic wooden Dragon Coaster, this makes me cringe. We lost the Airplane Coaster at that Park and it was a big mistake. If we could rebuild it, that would be a huge boon for business. Please re-think this decision and keep Thunder Road.
