Its one of the oldest rides and is definitely a signature ride at the park. Many people still actual like rough wooden roller coasters too. If you are going to tear a ride down it should be the Hurler. That ride hurts way worse than Thunder Road.

There are too few wooden coasters these days. Do not tear down another great one!

I'm born and raised in Charlotte. So many historical things are being torn down, from the JIF billboard, to the Goodyear Auto Shop uptown. Do NOT tear down this coaster. Its the staple of the park's history. So many memories from middle school

Not much left of growing up in the '70s - '80s around here. Please reconsider!

1st time I ever came to carowinds was beginning of season of 2014 and every person we talked to asking them what's your favorite coaster replied thunder road and we are now premium gold pass holders and it is our favorite also .I know thunder rd is the start and end to our day at the park and we look forward to it .

I absolutely LOVE wooden coasters and since I was just there riding this and others last weekend for my first time since moving to NC I would really be upset if they took out one of my favorite coasters in the park!! Please keep the Wooden coasters like Thunder Road!!

So sad that carowinds is doing this, a waste of money $$$$! Spend $$ on repairs to thunder road, in 2009

I loved this ride and hope they'll reconsider. It's an iconic ride that is known far and wide. Don't tear down history for a cheap profit. Keep it classic.

This coaster is much more significant to more people than maybe the Carowinds powers that be know. I'm not sure who they are polling to come to the conclusion that a water park ride should replace it. I have a Gold pass and I don't use the current water park. Thunder Road holds a lot of nostalgia but it's also an important landmark in an area that tends to not hold on to many historic landmarks. Most importantly, even after all of this time, it's a still a unique, exhilarating and very fun ride. If you make any changes, bring back the backwards ride option.
