This is the best ride at Carowinds. It's a historical wood coaster. I can't believe they'd remove this from the park.

Please let the road roll on. It would be a shame to take it down.

Honestly demolishing thunder road takes away from the parks history and nostalgia....

I rode this ride for the first time with my uncle when I was four. Don't you dare remove this ride. It is a piece of art history!!!!!

We need to preserve these original roller coasters. More thrilling than the clinical smooth steel coasters.

As a child I can always remember going to Carowinds always wanting to ride Thunder Road but not tall enough but the moment I became tall enough I felt like I made it to finally ride the Thunder Road and granted I was scared to death and I still remember going to the very top thinking was I crazy and I was like wow this is high screaming the whole time and after I got though that ride I would ride it again and again from good times to bad from being able to go backwards on Thunder Roads and when Carowinds took the option of going backwards away I would still ride . I like so many that was lucky enough to grow up with plenty of laughs and endless smiles from Carowinds . Carowinds truly brightened my childhood like so many and any time people spoke if Carowinds the first thing that would come off peoples head is the famous roller coaster . To me it's more than just a roller coaster it's a flood of memories you just can't take away so please keep Thunder Road . Thank you

At the same time of expanding and updating the park, maintain and treasure it's history by keeping Thunder Road

Why do you want to get rid of the oldest ride at Carowinds, I know you have all these new rides there and you think you need to get rid of the old and bring in the new, but what you don't realize that TR has and will always be the best attraction there.

this ride is historic it should never be replaced or retired, especially when they had one side going forward and the other going backwards.

As a past Carowinds employee I am very disappointed to hear the park is getting rid of one of the most special coasters in the park. I remember when one of the trains use to go backwards! There are not many wooden rides left in the park. Tearing this ride down would be a waste.

i'm sad to say your probably right. This company has to feed it's bloodthirsty stockholders. They have had the park 5? years. We've had it since 1972, it's more ours than theirs but the don't see it that way. Yes they can change the park, and attract new people but they will lose the fanbase who has spent money and kept them in business for sooooo long. Let's hope the new crowd is as loyal, otherwise the whole place is headed up "crap creek"!
