I think this is horrible Carowinds, I am unsure of your real reasons, but I am guessing this is to expand the water park or something along those lines. Thunder Road is a true classic and an icon of the park. When I think of Carowinds, I think of Thunder Road. I don't believe this has been difficult to maintain, and the park has spent so much money on it rebuilding the back half of the ride and re tracking parts of it just recently. It simply makes NO sense to remove it now. This news really saddens me and I will always think less of Carowinds now. I think this is a very poor decision. Also, why in the middle of the peak season? From start to end, this makes no sense. I hope many people complain and you rethink this through.

Please keep Thunder Road! It is a classic that has been around since I was little. It is unique because it crosses two states - others can't say that. It was one of my first roller coasters, and one of the only ones my son will ride! Let Thunder Road stay!

Wooden racing coasters are becoming too rare. Please consider keeping this one.

Make one of the cars go backwards again. Expand elsewhere. This is a classic.

I know Carowinds has already spent their money on whatever's replacing Thunder Road, but I just want to voice my opinion. Thunder Road has been a longstanding icon of the park, and while it's not attracting people like Fury325 is, it's still the park's best woodie and most classic ride. When people think of Carowinds today, they think of Fury325 and Intimidator. When they think of old school Carowinds, they think about Thunder Road, because everything about it screams old school. Carowinds doesn't have many original rides left (and I don't just mean 1973, I mean rides from the days of E. Pat Hall), and they should be preserving them, not taking them out. Yes, I know Cedar Fair wants a more national crowd for Carowinds, but they've still got a large local fan base to please. Save Thunder Road.
