Removing a staple landmark attraction seems a bit nearsighted, especially considering roller coasters can be worked around. Parks like Indian beach and Grona Lund are great examples of this. This is a total shame.

Only if there is an RMC makeover should this happen. Put the Powder Keg Flume back up too!

Rode this all my life, why get rid of an icon? Hurler is way more of a headache, get rid of it. At the very least wait until seasons end before you close thunder road, what sense does it make to close barely into the season?

We need this piece of history to stay here and I grew up with this awesome roller coaster. I look forward to have my two little girls experience the greatness of thunder road!

Thunder Road is the heart of Carowinds!!! It's such a great classic wooden roller coaster, and brings back so many memories. It's part of Charlotte history, and should be saved for future generations. What stupid pencil pusher had this hair brained idea?

I have been going to carowinds since I was 4 (17 now) and this is a classic. After the removal of this we will only be left with 4 good coasters in the park. If you were removing this for another coaster I would be fine but its a water park expansion which no one cares about. You better include a log flume or an amazing water coaster or I and many thousands of other fanswill be pissed.

I agree with many...The Hurler is in a dead area of the park and should be the first to go. That ride is one of a kind, the only to rival the two states. You center on that aspect in the front of the park, and want to tear the one ride that signifies it the best down. The Hurler hurts to ride, was popular for about 2 years about 10 years ago, and needs to go lonnnnnnnnng before Thunder Road. Cheers!

It is my favorite ride. I have the best memories of riding it when I came with my middle school for band competition.

I don't think they should get rid of it because it's a good ride and it was one of the first roller coasters at Carowinds
