Before closing the library, I would like a temporary site to be selected, books moved so we can still check out books and THEN close the branch for repairs or replacement.

I want the Venice Library to stay right where it is on Venice Island. I can't believe that treating the existing mold would cost more than building a new library.

Venice Public Library is homeless!!
As per the Venice Gondolier article January 9-10,2016 Vol. 70 N0.82, states in 2015 over 310,919 people visited the Venice Public Library!! "Staff has determined it would not be cost-effective to remediate and repair the current Venice Public Library,"Kalajian said. The Herald-Tribune January 17,2016 More than 300,000 people a year use the facility. Do the numbers. No one had reported being sick. Currently, there is No plan in place and No public input was allowed. They need obtain a second, third and fourth bids from contractors in writing to see how much it will cost to keep the building in operating condition. Mold was first detected in the 51 year old building back in 2010. With over 300,000 visitors per year X 5 years = 1.5 million visitors!!
