If you are a resident of Wilkes-Barre, PA you should know how much of an iconic landmark the Hotel Sterling is. The Hotel Sterling has stood for over 100 years in a prime location at the intersection of Market Street and River Street. However, it has been vacant since 1998 and it is in need of serious restoration and repairs. The current owners, CityVest, have said the building is going to be demolished. Please sign the petition to save the historic Hotel Sterling. With enough signatures and support (and a few generous donors) hopefully we can save the Hotel Sterling.

It should be noted that a window will come up asking for a donation once you sign the petition….THAT REQUEST IS NOT FOR THE HOTEL STERLING but for the ipetitions site itself. A donation is not required for your signature to be recorded on the Save The Sterling petition.

My grandfather worked there back in the day. Too much history to just bulldoze it for a parking lot.

So sad to watch it fall apart for years. Really hope someone steps up to restore it.
