This is a complete ignorance of culture in the 'most multi-cultural city in the world'. If shisha is banned, Toronto is going to upset an entire culture that not only arabs enjoy but many canadians too. It's a shame that they want to immediately ban shisha for health purposes but haven't banned cigarettes at all so far cause they're making money off it even thought they tell people the harmful affects it has on the body. BAN CIGARETTES TOO if you're going to ban my precious shisha!

Honestly, it is about time we get rid of shisha. Most cafes hide the fact that they are selling people shisha with tobacco inside. They just pretent it is "herbal" by hiding the boxes. Not to mention most of the people in the shisha cafes are under 19. The owners don't care since it is usually underage kids who spend every day in this cafes spending money.

Hooka is a social cultural tradition that we as a culture hold very dear. It is a gathering that we as a community attend to on a regular basis in order to converse and maintain our social life while we enjoy our hookah. Unlike cigarettes which can be consumed publicly having a negative health affect and influence at all public areas and bystanders, hookahs have its own premises where cultured people will attend to privately and as a choice. Any other respected individual who is concerned with its health issues are welcome to refrain from it and the cafes that serve it. As a Muslim community, we do not drink alcohol or attend to clubs and or strip clubs, therefore we have minimal means of day to day public pleasure except that of hookah cafes. Please respect our culture and do not deny us our places of comfort and tradition. Thank you kindly

Shisha has never intoxicated someone, alcohol has done and it is still legal. Reconsider which one you should be banning

Banning hookah would have its positives and negatives but hookah bars are legally 19+ such as drinking and clubbing etc. Hookah is also a huge part of culture which should be taken into consideration.

You have no right to ban it after 20 years of shisha running in business.

It's nobody's business what I put in my body, but my own. Don't tell me what I can and can't do. This is tradition from back home and if Canada truly is the multicultural country they say they are they shouldn't be stealing my culture away.

We should have the freedom of choice. If your against hookah lounges, don't go. They're meant to cater to those who value this cultural practice.
