Keep The Sea Star In Oceanside

I am in complete support in having Capt. Joe and his boat the "Sea Star" be given a continued landing space contract beyond 2016 for continued public service regarding Fishing Charters, Burials at sea, and Kids fishing support programs. Capt. Joe has been an asset to the community of Oceanside as well as other closely located communities. It would be a big mistake to not provide a landing slip for his continued successful & professional services to our community.

The Sea Star must remain in Oceanside Harbor!!!

I have been with captain joe long time. I'm hoping he can continue working out the landing as he is the best captain and has the best boat. Stearns Business Machines been supporting the Sea Star for many years and would like to continue to do so. I feel it would be a big lose to the fishing community to loose him and his experience. I hope that one day he can lease the landing from the city and I'm sure he would do great things with it!

The sea star is a special memory for my family. It'd break our hearts to see it go

My husband, Robert Erickson and I have been here since 1949. We both have very fond memories of fishing off the boats in the harbor. It is important that we continue the tradition that is the Sea Star in Oceanside.

I support capt Joe and the seastar

We, my husband and I, have had many delightful times on the Sea Star, not to mention some life long friends that we met on Joes boat. We live in Florida now but were in Oceanside for over 30 years. Joe is knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. It would really hurt the whole marina to see him go. Please rethink your decision.

Captain Joe provides a valuable service with his burials at sea. He has always been respectful and professional through out the burial. He is a good man who has provided so much for the North County community. It truly would be a shame if he was not able to continue his lifelong passion as Captain of the Sea Star. I hope the city of Oceanside will consider the 34 years of his career as valuable and worth saving.

Helgrens is the one that should go. One of the worst operations on the coast

Caption Joe had been amazing over the years! Part of Bobbys family and has shown much care and love. He loves his fish and ocean. He is a upstanding man and deserves respect!

My wife and I visit family in Oceanside at least twice a year. It is high time for the virtual monopoly that is Helgrens to be dismantled. Sea Star has offered great trips to kids and seniors, and wounded warriors, for many years. I would hope that Capt Joe will continue to be a full participant in the charter, headboard business and community for many years to come. It's time for OC to be more focused on diversity at the harbor, allowing more charters do headboat services, not the monopoly that Helgrens apparently wants.
