Save the Rec, Standish

I was brought up in the house next to the path than runs alongside the rec and my mother still lives there. I don't think this carpark idea has been thought out well at all. It is one of the few green spaces in Standish and to turn it into a carpark is so sad. There is already a ridiculous amount of traffic around green lane and surely besides anything else this will encourage more parents of children at Woodford to park there meaning more children in danger. Turning it into a park/nature space would be nice but could attract trouble from youths. Leave it as it is!!!!!

Here's Gazza, I really don't know who I am or what I do but I know I'll make an issue out of a non issue and insult people as I'm a nasty, vile little nobody

The Rec is an essential part of Standish and turning it into a Car Park would be a massive mistake. I have fond memories of watching local football teams, always interesting watching players coping with the slope!

Nobody is suggesting it goes, the consultation is if it should be upgraded with one of the three options having a small car park at one end, see http://www.standishvoice.co.uk/ for full details and take the illiterate rantings of Mr Fairhurst with a pinch of salt.

Should remain as it is No car park green Lane junction is awful we live opposite the school it's horrendous. Car park will attract people in the evening drugs gypsies and more traffic by the school and more noise a for residents.park good idea but may attract teenagers congregating smoking drinking anti social behaviour not good for the little ones that play on it. Let me Chadwick provide carpark with charge that is refunded when buying something at his shop. Traffic on green lane is bad and Southland ave would see teenagers driving round the circle.

I grew up on Aldford way and the rec was a huge part of my childhood. My 13 son and his friends spend hours playing football on it in the school holidays.such a waste if it goes .

Leave it alone or better still use some of the money that Standish will get from each new house built in Standish. Yes folks that's what happens , each house that is built has to make a contribution to roads, schools, green spaces and funnily enough car parking spaces. I know that Standish wont receive most of this money and it will be given over to pet projects, but surely we disserve some.

But the Standish Independents want to leave it as it is which means they do not intend to invest in the Rec. One of the proposals being put forward is to invest in the Rec BUT not provide any car parking. Sounds to me like that's the proposal you're in favour of.

The rec needs some long overdue investment so that more people can enjoy the limited amount of green space left in Standish. It should not be turned into a carpark of any size.

This recreational field is one of few green open playing fields left in the area. Leave it alone!

From what? There are no proposals to turn it all into a car park. More scaremongering from the Standish Independents. Two of the three proposals being put forward involve no car parking provision whatsoever.

We need the petition Janet Monks because the Standish Voice vote os flawed. Anyone can vote from Tunisia to Timbuktu and on multiple occasions. It isn't democratic or scientific. Thank god we don't elect local councillors this way.
