Toronto City Council, without debate approved the destruction of the landmark half-round building, the former Riverdale Hospital. Community opposition to putting large condominiums on public land is well documented. But losing a cultural institution, where artists with disabilities perform on the buildings accessible stage cannot be understated...we will all lose a part of our cultural legacy if we allow the destruction of our artistic infrastructure. Please work with the Riverdale community to save this important and necessary building...the City of Toronto will be richer for it!
The momentum behind this fight is growing and the council is starting to notice our collective refusal to lose the Riverdale legacy. Post the link to your Facebook page today and email your city representative to demand they halt the demolition plans.

So much for a cultural city. Just another glass box replacing something meaningful. FIX THIS.

Why is the council so dead set on wrecking our history? Its a beautiful spot and it needs to stay right where it is.

This is ridiculous. We dont need more condos filling up the city. Save the building and keep the arts alive.
