This is a petition for a redress of grievances. The ongoing rebranding effort and product it has produced, as well as the irresponsible spending for which it is now known, does not represent the shared values of the citizens of Abilene. Therefore, the undersigned citizens of Abilene call upon all city council members of the City of Abilene for an immediate cessation of further taxpayer expenditures in the city rebranding effort, pending an opportunity for substantial public involvement in further decision making toward this effort. This petition will close at midnight on December 15, 2008.
