This goes beyond just the fine arts department, but one small step. .. This has got to stop.

As a former teacher, stories like this make me so disappointed in our education system. Every year, great teachers who make positive influences in their students' lives are let go due to politics and attempts to withhold tenure status. It is so backwards. Those are the teachers you SHOULD allow tenure. They are the teachers that the students need.

We love them to death and they have done everything in their power to make the fine arts better and they did in past two years there has been a incredible difference.

I am a current student at JSU for music education and an alumna of Clay-Chalkville. I do not know why the Pinson School Administration has let go the fine arts professors, but I hope there is good reason. Fine arts has had an important role in human development since primal time, and has enhanced math, history and language skills for the learners. Music students test higher than others, therefore if Pinson is ending the fine arts program, they are accepting their name of 'the nursery' because they are not giving students a positive influence. Music is all around the students therefore the perfect tool to steer students towards what is right. Pinsom Administration-you are dispicable.

Disappointed in the decision. I have seen the quality of these educators with my own eyes. This is not a case of over emotional reactions by the kids.

If they are going to continue to fire teachers before tenure, which these teachers are usually the most excited about teaching vs a 20th year teacher waiting on the retirement. This really needs to stop!

Fine Arts was the only reason I passed high school.

Art is very important for children - it makes the imagination run free for a little and relaxes them. They find passion for Art and not for drugs

I have worked with Mr. Triola and Ms. Timothy and can without a doubt say that they are amazing teachers and even better people. As for Mr. Bearden, I have heard only good things about him. The firing of these three teachers is, in my opinion, outrageous. They work hard to make their students happy and to teach them to the best of their ability. I willingly sign this petition to get their jobs back, because they are near and dear to all of our hearts.

I'm apart of the Rudd middle school band and I don't think that it's fair that the high school band director got fired. If they don't bring him back then they are gonna loose alot of band members.

If you get rid of art, then you are depriving children with an extremely important way to express themselves. A child may not be able to speak their emotions aloud. But if they know they can express their feelings in a painting and know how to do so, that can mean the difference in depression and optimism. It will only hurt the community if you rid it of art

This here fine arts, Create good people. Not being mean about sports or anything but cam newton wines a lot, and he is not a team player. I won't let the people who can be a lil over dramatic loose all the credit that they made in the fine arts and not be able to use it outside of school
