It's disgusting to decimate the drama program and the band program; these teachers were doing an amazing job. I've never heard a more beautiful high school concert than the one Mr. Brandenburg's band put on last week, and I've had my own children in the band for the past 12 years. My two youngest were willing to give up their spots in the IB program to stay in Pinson and be in Mr. Bearden's band. This is absolutely disgusting and senseless. We parents are sick of having administrators get rid of good teachers that our children need and replacing them every year or two. That is not the way to build up a school. This is short-sighted and a disgusting outrage.

This is an outrage. How does Turner know how these men handle their classrooms when he hardly spends any time in there?? Keep protesting guys and show up Monday.

I have no words to describe my thoughts. If that many teachers were not renewed and the fine arts department took that large a hit, I would like to know why. I know we will never truly know why. But I was at Pinson during a time of bad leadership in the administration once before. This all sounds familiar.
I would ask Mayor Sanders and the city council to be very vigilant and vocal about their citizens feelings. I know they have no influence with the school board. But they represent the community and spirit around the school. Examine the facts and find the truth. Do not support the school. Support those who live in your city and attend there.
