The Queensland Parliament finally listened and the Fairy House is safe from their destructive transit plans. It took relentless pressure to make them back down, but we proved that local landmarks are not up for negotiation. Keep your eyes peeled because we must ensure they never try this again.
(To the Queensland Parliament) Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House our opposition to any proposal involving destruction of the Fairy House (24 MacGregor Terrace, Bardon), as outlined in options 2 and 3 of the Main Roads MacGregor/Jubilee Terrace Planning Study. The Fairy House is a cherished local icon that has been loved by local residents and passers-by for generations. Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to consider alternatives, especially enhanced public transport and traffic minimisation before allowing the destruction of this landmark.
(Note this was our first petition. Over 200 people have signed it, but we have now moved. See the link to the official Parliamentary Petition on the right.)
We just hit 250 signatures and the bureaucrats at Main Roads better start paying attention to our anger. They think they can bulldoze our history for their road projects but this number proves them dead wrong.

The bureaucrats at Main Roads are still ignoring us but they cannot ignore the growing pile of names on this list. We are almost at two hundred and fifty signatures so push this link out to your neighbors right now to force their hand.

I drive past this every single day and it always brightens my mood. Such a shame to even think about destroying it.

TOTAL WASTE OF TAXPAYER MONEY. Fix the transit instead of ruining a local landmark.
