there are a million places an animal shelter could be built. people love playing disc at swope park and it is unnecessary to build it there. Kansas City has plenty of commercial properties which would be great for an animal shelter that is not in a place where people frequently go to with their family and friends to enjoy themselves.

Parks can stem the downturn of a commercial area, support the stabilization of faltering neighborhoods, and provide a landmark element and a point of pride for constituents. For all these things to happen, the city needs to be open and aware of parks' potential to spur revival, and support the elements that are needed to make that happen. replacing one of the most popular courses in the Midwest would be a huge step in the wrong direction, not only for disc golf, but for the city. WHO THINKS IT'S A GOOD IDEA TO GET RID OF A PARK!? NOT COOL MAN. NOT COOL

Kansas City is making a huge mistake by getting rid of Swope disc golf course. This a a NATIONAL TOUR COURSE. The biggest pros in the world come here and you won’t even consider replacing it somewhere else? This will take KC of the map in the disc golf world... but I’m sure the bastards in charge could care less.

Swope Park was gifted to the city to be used as a park. How is this an appropriate location for an animal shelter? I grew up playing this beautiful historic course and have brought my family here countless times. It is disrespectful to the many who cherish this place to propose destroying the park with no intention to even relocate the course.

I love the Swope park disc golf course and have enjoyed playing it for decades. I sincerely hope it can be saved and appreciate the efforts to do so.

Swope disc golf course is the oldest course is KC. It is a great course. Sometime great courses need to be left alone.

It would be a shame to see Swope go. I have a shelter dog and am all for a dog shelter. However, Swope Park is massive and one would think there are alternate locations that the shelter could go and/or a way in which to two could co-exist! Please don't take one of our staple courses away.
