It would be incredibly sad to relocate or lose this historic course for something that can clearly be located at many other places within or without the park.

This course is a historical treasure for the disc golf community. Please don't destroy it to build something that can easily be build in another location in Swope park. There is plenty of open and flat land on the north end of the course that is currently our alternate holes for the course. It seems this would be much less painful for all parties, the disc golfers keep the original course and flat land provides less construction cost for the no kill shelter. At the very least stick with the original plan to only take away a small portion of the course on the south end.

I grew up in the KC area and unfortunately never played at Swope Park but it is considered a very good course and hosts really good tournaments. It needs to be kept in the condition it's in and approved upon.

I have been playing the historic Swope Park Disc Golf Course since moving here in 1987. I would like to suggest moving your planned location to the ideal level ball diamonds west of the course. The extreme elevation changes of our beautiful famous disc golf course ARE NOT well suited for suited for a facility or the parking lots required for your project.

To remove history is a travesty regardless. That course has been there longer than those trying to close it. I am an animal lover as well and the original plan can work. What of other properties ? Obtaining a current brick and mortor structure has to be cheaper than building a new one.

Swope park is one of the coolest parks I have ever played. It's beautiful, challenging and all the high altitude tee offs are incredible.
