The Swope Park Disc Golf course is like my second home. I really hope there is a way to keep some of it in tact.

Disc Golf is a valuable amenity that provides residents a low cost way to get exercise and enjoy the out of doors. It also brings valuable tourist dollars to the area.

Was told by my son that recent plans have changed to completely remove the disc golf course instead of the previous plans. Would be sad if the course were to be completely removed.

There is plenty of room in this park to build this shelter without tearing out this piece of Kansas City history.

Disc golfers come from all over the country to play this course. That's revenue for Kansas City... food, lodging, etc. It's amazing how much money a "free to play" sport can bring to the local economy.

Save Swipe and save the stray pets. Just do the right thing and help relocate or don't take the whole space. We will not go away so consider the disc golf community before you break ground.

Disc Golf for me is a way to get away from my life and do something I love to do! I appreciate all the diverse courses in the greater Kansas City area, but playing the oldest course in our area is special to me and I love playing Swope. Would be devastating if the whole course were to be removed! Hope we all are able to fight to keep it!

I travel all over the country and plan stops to coincide with local disc golf courses. It seems like there are alternate locations within the park for the shelter.

I sat on the KCFDC Board of Directors when this plan came to light. Discussions were had regarding reaction, redesign, potential options for replacement courses. The tone and timbre made us all feel that we would keep at least some portion of historic Swope Disc Golf Course, and potentially gain access to lands to foster the growth of disc golf in another portion of the park space. The news of wanting to move this shelter, which none will disagree is wanted, right into the middle of the course, removing all of it is saddening. Equally as upsetting is the lack of any comparable location proposal to show intent to work with the large disc golf community which has supported, both fiscally and physically, the growth and maintenance of many Kansas City courses and parks.
