As an animal lover I understand the need for the No-Kill Shelter. However it doesn't need to be at the expensive of an established Historic disc golf course that has added Value to the area. There is enough room at Swope Park to share.

People come from all over the mid west to play KC courses like Swope. I drove from St. Louis just for that and stayed 3 nights in a hotel. There are plenty of people like me.

Please save this rare gem. Why can’t the Pet project go across the street at the baseball field? There are hundreds of those across the city.

This course helped me grow into the player I am today. I wouldn’t be the same without it.

Great courses in the area, including this one. I travel from Oklahoma just to play these courses. Let's keep them!

Please do not do this. As an animal lover and disc golfer I do not see why a compromise cannot be made between the two factions? I voted for the shelter, not to destroy the course.

Don't destroy the history of disc golf at Swope park! There is plenty of land on this park property. To rip out a disc golf course that people use for fun and exercise is ridiculous! Look at are recent decision in Saint Louis at Creve Cour park. They tear the back nine up for an ice rink that now will never be built and leave it demolished. Leave are parks alone! Thank you.

Please reconsider using the land that is currently occupied by the Swope disc golf course. This course and means a lot to many people. Just reading through the comments, you can see that this course has been instrumental in helping people through physical and mental healing. You can also see how much this course means to those who have played it, not just once or twice, but learned to play the sport because this was the most convenient course to their home. You can also tell how much it means to those who visit the city both domestically and internationally. Personally, while walking this course with my husband for many many rounds, it help me get through some of my most trying times. Swope Park is one of the largest city parks in the country, and I know there is plenty of room for both the disc golf course at its current location and the No-Kill shelter. Once again, please consider using another piece of land, or at least stick with the original plan which only took a couple of holes from the course, so that the Kansas City Flying Disc Gold club can redesign the course and keep this historical course in the ground, keeping it on its original piece of land. Thank you!!

An iconic disc golf course that was the foundation that made Kansa city disc golf what it is today.... Go build your puppy shelter elsewhere.... This a park and they are made to be used and this one is. It has a huge user rate....

Swope Park is A historical part of disc golf life For the city of Kansas City and anyone else in the US. As a city you would be losing a draw of the 100,000+ disc golfers nationwide, and more importantly throwing away this course that will be a part of the Disc Golf hall of fame. Please consider moving the future plans, in order to save history.
