Save Springfield School Pool, Portsmouth

This is not only used by the school but by other swimming groups as well.

I was at Springfield School when the pool opened in 1971 and learnt to swim in it. It is a skill that I have enjoyed for the last 46 years. Please don't deny the next generation the chance.

Children need to learn to swim. This pool is used by other schools too.

An island town needs children to be able to swim to enjoy their youth in the local area more safety as well as helping them to stop falling into the horrible obesity statistics. Get the kids running outside for free and swimming is the best all over exercise. Gym space for 65 will deprive everyone else too much but I bet £ over rules health and well being :(

My Grand daughters will be going to this school and I would love them to be able to go swimming, also my Son learnt to swim here with the cubs. It would be such a shame to have it taken away.

This is an invaluable resource for our children, providing both swimming and lifesaving skills through several swimming schools. The volume of children using this pool CANNOT simply be usurped into the existing facilities, despite PCC's claim that they can!

It is so important for children to learn how to swim. Not all children have parents who can swim and teach them. I feel strongly that this should be a compulsory part of the curriculum.

Save the swimming pool of the children

I must have been one of the early pupils to learn to swim here and i believe it is vital that all children should learn to swim.

Save Springfield School pool. Not just swim schools, but local primary schools and community groups like the scouts also use this vital facility.

I learnt to swim in this pool in the 1970's It is a very valuable to the local community My sister Dianne Whittington even represented the school at swimming back then it will be a sad day if this facility closes John Whittington

Don't close it. I learnt to swim there and it would be so sad if all of these children lose the opportunity to learn to swim.

These facilities are so important especially when we are already struggle to get the young generation fit and healthy

I learnt to swim there as student, it boosted my confidence in water and taught me life saving techniques, and shouldnt be shut for a measly extra 65 pupil uptake

I was a pupil at this school in the 70's this pool was a valuable accet for learning to swim etc. There are very few school with their own pool. swimming is part of the national curriculum and a valuable life skill I cannot believe this valuable accent is being considered for demolition

Dreadful decision, it has stopped my young from learning as other public pools in the city are to expensive and crowded. Thousands of kids through the years have learnt at springfield.

A terrible decision to. Lose this pool.
