Please keep the pool. Both my sons learnt to swim there with private and lessons when at Court Lane school. Swimming is not only great exercise but a lesson in safety as we live near the sea.

Please don't close this vital facility. It is a valuable asset to our children's future.

This is a asset to the local community and the children not only attending the school but those around it to. We don't have enough of these facilities in schools in our city.

It would be a massive mistake to lose the swimming pool which thousands of pupils have used over the years. There is enough space on the school grounds to build the accommodation for the extra 65 pupils.

Please don't take this facility away from the children of Portsmouth and surrounding areas and hinder small business that teach these kids to swim!

This has been an important resource for many a year long may it continue to encourage generations in the future.

Yes, Springfield does need to expand as it is always over subscribed but not at the expence of the pool.

Much needed facility for the numbers that use it.

I went to Springfield and used the pool many years ago, I probably wouldn't be able to swim if the facility was not there.

At this rate there won't be any swimming pools left in our area. Yes the school has to expand but not at the expense of the pool.

This pool should not be closed, great learning experience for all children.

I learnt to swim and then swam for Portsmouth Victoria at this pool in the 80s and 90s.

Our first child went to swimming lessons in springfield school for several years. Teachers were great, lessons were very useful and the pool was very convinient, no other pool in the north of Portsmouth.

I believe that it is a preposterous decision to close down the pool and I am shocked that the council have come to this conclusion. All children should have the rights to go to swimming lessons as they wish to and for the council to close down another one of our pools in the area means that the pools we have will be more crowded. Not only this, but this pool is one of a few pools in the area to be able to teach rookie lifeguards. I think that this alone will effect your decision and you should have this advantage to be proud of. I strongly suggest you reconsider this and that you should think more of the community other than yourselves.

Keep it open! Ridiculous closing it. This governing body have absolutely no clue at all.

This pool should not be closed as these days children learning to swim is far more important than playing other sports !!!
