Don't take away our pool, swimming is a valuable skill and we need space to teach it.

My son was loving his first swimming lessons at this pool. I feel it would be a great loss for the school and north of the city

This seems so shortsighted. There are few enough pools in the area and with health and fitness issues hitting the news almost every day, why would anyone consider closing down this one? I hope it's not too late to stop this happening.

Swimming is not only a fantastic way to keep fit and healthy but also a life skill. Many children are lucky to have private lessons but some don't have this luxury. For them school lessons are even more valuable. As more and more pools close, children have to travel further afield taking more time out of their school day. The swim schools you let the pool to also do an invaluable job. School provision of lessons is minimal and these classes other children the opportunity to become more proficient swimmers and safer around water. Please don't close yet another pool.

This swimming pool has been used for many years by swimming clubs to teach people to swim - I can't think of a better reason to keep a pool.

More pupils doesn't make any sense. Schools are too over crowded anyway. Swimming is too important to the community.

What a terrible short sighted decision. With sea and rivers nearby teaching our children to swim is an essential lifeskill. Local pool means it is more likely parents will access lessons. This needs to be reconsidered.

I swam here when I was little. It's such a shame they want to close it and build a sports hall. Complete waste of resources!!

This has been a great pool and it will be better staying as a pool then a gym. Portsmouth is starting to lose all their pools!!!

Gaining a whole 65 pupils in comparison to losing one of the best gym options at that school, stupid decision.

Swimming will be more accessible and enguage more pupils than a gym or sports hall would
