I learned to swim here and my cousin run's his swim school here, so useful to the community and was definitely a benefit at Springfield as other schools do not have this facility.

There are not many other schools with pools in the area or provide swimming lessons as part of core PE. This is essential to a child's education and being able to swim is a vital life skill.

Please save this pool my cousin is a swimming teacher and and she has done some amazing things with her love of swimming we have loads of gyms but not many swimming pools I think it's important that we keep this pool open as pools are for all ages

This pool was good to learn in and I went to Springfield and I loved my swimming lessons at p.e times keep it open

We have lost many school pools here and school budgets are now stretched transporting students to further away pools.

Swimming is one of the best forms of exercise and an essential life skill. How about investing some money to spruce it up a bit but don't close it!!!

Swimming pools are essential. Closing yet another pool is a huge mistake. More people will use a pool and learn a life skill than use a gym. Children need to learn to swim as part of the Curriculum and Leisure centres will not be able to cope with the added numbers if this pool closes. Children are told to exercise to prevent diabetes and obesity but then you take away the facilities to keep fit. Look what's happened to QA after Haslar, St Marys and all the War Memorials have closed. It can't cope. Different scenario but same effect. More and more houses are being built which leads to more people living in the area but resources are being shut. Where's the logic?

It would be such a shame to loose such a historical pool! So many children and adults would miss out on such an opportunity to swim here.

My son loved his lessons there, he got familiar with the pool and people as he can be quite shy. We have yet to re enrol at a different swim club since Springfields closure.
