We must save this pool. Children need to learn to swim an essential life skill much needed excercise

They already have a gym, no need to get rid of the pool! I always enjoyed swimming as a sport at school in my time as a pupil here.

I'm a pupil at Springfield and the swimming pool is one of the best things about the school.

A valuable resource that shouldn't be lost. Let's hope Portsmouth City Council use some common sense and save the pool!

An awful and very backward looking decision. I hope it's saved, PCC and Governors should hang their heads in shame for even allowing such an idea to get this far.

I think it's a disgrace we live on an island right near the sea and swimming should be taught to every child in portsmouth . Another pool closing does not help . Sometimes you should put children before money

The only time I ever enjoyed PE was when we had swimming, would be such a shame to lose this pool. I know it is used alot for outside swimming lessons also, just doesn't make sense to take it away when the school already has a gym and a pool is such an asset!!!

This School may be my sons future senior School and would hate to see something removed that took such hard work and dedication in the first place. Let's not move backwards!

Why victimise hundreds of children for the sake of sixty five new pupils? I would suggest building a new school to take the influx of new pupils for the future.

I know it costs an awful lot to run & maintain but such a shame as it's been so enjoyed from my school days at Springfield ( & trips from primary school) and now my sons, not to mention the swimming clubs that use it. Will be such a loss. Hope PCC can reconsider.

The pool should be kept, it creates a community feel.

My little girl loves having swimming lessons at this facility. She has been asking every week, when she is going back!

Keep it open the city already suffers from lack of sporting facilities and to close this will have a great impact on the city's children's opportunity to learn to swim.

I am shocked and sadden by this decision as I have taught swimming for 30 years at Springfield pool and have seen the benefits to children and adults alike in learning this valuable life skill and gaining so much personal confidence. Please think again and retain the pool for future generations to learn, enjoy and BE SAFE.
