I learnt to swim in this pool 30 years ago and my children were having lessons here. This was the 'beacon' school of Portsmouth, how can such a great school go downhill so quickly, closing the pool is just another negative!! This closure will affect so many children. The governors need to take some action and look at replacing the senior leadership team!!!

Both my children have been taught to swim at Springfield pool. They will be very sad to see it closed.

Please keep the pool open for the community. We live on the coast and it is vital all children can swim well

Being able to swim is important for children of all ages. Their life may depend on it one day.

My daughter has swimming lessons here and loves them! Would be a massive shame to lose a facility for all children involved

Appalled by this short sighted decision which goes against the wishes of the community.

This pool benefits many schools and clubs in the area, closing it is a complete disgrace!

I was taught how to swim in this pool when I was a young child and then attended Springfield in my senior year. It's the only pool available for many children to learn and I would intend for my daughter to swim here too. Please keep this open, there is more space on the grounds to build a gym.

We need this pool to help children keep fit

No need for a gym. Plenty of gyms in and around Portsmouth. Not many pools. A swimming pool for me at Springfield in the 1990's was one of main attractions to go to this School. Keep it open.

I used to go to this school in the 90's... I have only good memories about this swimming pool. Please let our future have the same privilege we had!

Swimming is an important thing for every child to learn and this school and community is very lucky to have this facility available to them as a lot of schools don't. I am an ex pupil and remember using this pool in middle school.

The benefits of the swimming are endless. I can't see how NOT changing it into a gym will prevent 65 more pupils from coming to the school? Better to think outside the box and offer a wider range of different sports or activities - the Mountbatten Centre is not so far away and there are many large playing fields at the north of the city.

No real comment other than if we keep closing opportunities for our children to remain fit and healthy then what hope have we got.

Save it! Why take away something people enjoy
