This pool is not only part of Springfield school lots of other clubs and organisations hire it. Have done for many years producing income for 40 years +if the council and school squandered the money and not reinvested the money to keep it up to a working condition where did the money go ?

Pupils and users within the wider community have not been consulted at all. Thousands benefit from this facility and it's disgraceful that this could be lost.

Every opportunity for sports should be given to children. Why close a facility that's already there, and has proven to be beneficial to all levels of fitness.

All my boys have learnt to swim in this pool it would make sense to keep it open as it's used not only by the community but the school

All my children have used this pool for swimming lessons both privately & with their Junior school being able to walk along and use the facilities. I also remember using it myself for swimming lessons as a child. This will be a massive loss to not just Springfield school but the local area. I'm sure if they're short on funds to update it, a bit of fundraising locally would be well supported due to the amount of 'locals' that have benefited from using it over the years.

Save the pool, it's integral to a child's physical development. Many children who's parents can not afford swimming lessons may be disadvantaged if they do not have the opportunity to learn at school!

I learnt to swim in that pool as did my mum and uncle before me. It is crucial that every child gets that opportunity! It's not only a valuable life skill but there is a massive community that has been built around that pool!

Children need to know how to swim, this pool is used by Solent and court lane juniors. Roll it out to residents for extra revenue, why can't year 11 be trained as life guards to help supervise. Once it's gone that's it. Why weren't parents/ tax paying residents advised????
