If you keep closing all the pools how are children going to learn how to swim, its very important they learn.

This could be come a community PTA funded pool which is part of the school. This taking away the funding element from the school itself. You already have ONE sports hall you DO NOT need another one.

We must support fully the teaching of swimming to all (especially children), whether they go on to be in a competive club or not, IT SAVES LIVES.

The decision to close Springfield pool will affect hundreds of children who learn to swim out of school hours will be a foolish decision. The cost of building a new gym would where the pool could be used to extend and modernize the present gym.

The pool should be kept but updated as it is constantly closed. Swimming should be compulsory as it is a valuable life skill, most parents are having to pay for private lessons.

Children need a activity as the fields are going to housing.

The pool is teaching kids to swim. Its keeping kids active. It is so short sighted to shut it down. Portsmouth is on the sea, and is unsafe when children cannot swim. Not all kuds can learn in large centres with big classes. If children cannot swim and stay active, then active for life cannot be adhered to, NHS health issues will rise. Closing the pool is not a good thing to do

Swimming is a life skill and so important for children to learn. There should be more pools in schools making it more accessible to every child!
