So sad to see a great community faculty close. Not only for the pupils of Springfield, the pupils of surrounding schools and for private lessons. Swimming is a life skill and one every child should have but especially when you consider our coastal location!

Taught many children to swim there over many years. My own children swam there. Very important for ALL children to learn to swim especially when they live so close to water.

Save the pool. There aren't to many left in Portsmouth now, without the need of travelling a long way.

Such a shame if this pool closes as it is used by swimming schools to teach children to swim

My sons went to clubs there and I used to do aqua aerobics there too. Would be so sad for the area if it closes.

It is an absolute necessity that children should be taught to swim. Our own granddaughter learnt at Springfield and now attends as a pupil. To take this amenity away would be totally wrong.

Absolute disgrace probably no other reason than the council don't want to pay for the upkeep

I think it is vitally important that because we live so near the sea, that our children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren learn to swim as early as possible.

It is so important for schools to have swimming pools. Especially as we are by the sea. It saves countless lives. I'm shocked that it is even being considered to get rid of it.
We need this pool.
