It was recently announced that as from April 2010, only 1 out of 4 mums who currently are able to have their babies at Solihull Hospital will continue to be allowed to do so. The other 3 out of 4 mums will have to go to Heartlands or Sutton Coldfield Hospitals - this will include all c-sections and deliveries needing forceps. Only mums with extremely normal pregnancies will be able to have babies in Solihull, at a midwife-led unit. Campaigners want the best possible services for Solihull residents and are calling for full Consultant cover for mums and babies at Solihull Hospital. Mums should have full choice of how and where they give birth. The new proposals are reducing choice, not increasing it. Campaigners are concerned about the capacity at Heartlands and Sutton Coldfield Hospitals - there are many reports that these units are often at full capacity. Sign the petition to help ensure Solihull mums can continue to have their babies in Solihull
