Shark finning is a disgusting practice through out the world. Every day hundreds of sharks are taken from the depths of their watery homes and finned. Finning consists of cutting off all the fins of a shark. Once this is done, the shark is released back into the water and left to die a slow painful death from blood loss or starvation. Or they are eaten by other sharks. There are laws prohibiting this cruel act and yet governments do not enforce it. Why? Because they don't have the resources or they are bribed to look the other way. A beautiful creature of the sea is being killed off by the hundreds every day and many people do not even know about it. But if you sign this petition you can leave your mark and hopefully help stop such a cruel practice.
The response to this initiative has surpassed my initial expectations. It is encouraging to see such widespread resolve to address the brutal practice of shark finning.

Ban the trade of fins everywhere. It needs to stop before they go extinct.

This is so heartbreaking. How can people be this cruel? Sharks are vital to the ocean and we are killing them for soup. Stop this now.
