local animal shelters are quick to put down pitbulls because of there name only, and make the owners jump through hoops to retrieve the pets. after doing the required list -they may even add to it. If a collie bites a passerby , it will be quarantined for 10 days then released to the owner to were a pitbull is immediately lined up for termination..If your pit is raised with children, to run freely in your home, feeded ,watered, provided play toys, and giving all the love a dog could want - IT IS ONLY NATURAL FOR HIM TO WANT TO PROTECT YOU. But if your pit is to growl,bark,approach any one near your home (that he is protecting) then it is labeled a VISCOUS,MEAN,ENDANGER-MENTAL DOG. I write this petition on behalf of ROCCO who sits in hurst,tx animal shelter and is currently being label viscous killer, but he belongs to a 4 yr old boy that loves him more than the world,plays with him ,sleeps with him, and Just wants HIS dog back.. rocco growled and barked at a jogger in front of there home (who works for the city)BUT NEVER BITE HIM, and now they put him on death row. To all those of us who own,have owned a PITBULL and know that there ALL not bad dogs or the ones that personally knows rocco please sign my petition to SAVE HIS LIFE.
