Closing the pool to the many athletes that use it on a weekly basis would be a very poor decision.

I personally am on that swimteam and it has made my life so much better. Swimming with those people at that pool is like my second family and I would hate to lose them.

I never liked swimming but I went to my first swim meet for a friend a week ago. And now I have to say that’s a amazing fun sport. It makes me regret not swimming as younger.

This pool needs to stay open! We need more community pools, not less! Community pools bring communities together!

Please strive to keep this pool available for the swim teams and the public that already use it. Forcing larger groups to go to different facilities greatly impacts the quality of instruction and the time available for competitive training.

As a MCHS alumni, I know how valuable the pool is to our swim team! It's a part of MCHS history, and is still a valuable asset to the school that cannot be removed!

We can't close the Dick Wells Training Center pool. Here are some better ideas-
• Why don’t we reinstitute the 3rd grade swimming program. We used to teach all county 3rd graders how to at least be drown-proofed well enough to survive incidents like the high school boy drowning in the ocean a year or so ago.
• We should have mandatory swimming for high school gym class. Introducing swimming for fitness can go a long way toward promoting adult health.
• The County and School Board should work together to continue funding this pool, as well as having adequate year-round pools for East Stuart and Hobe Sound. When our pool was open on the week-ends for open-swim, it was packed with kids from all over Stuart, and it was much more affordable than Sailfish Splash. Kids walked, rode their bikes, were dropped off or came with their families, and parents knew their kids were safe in an extremely healthy environment.

This pool and its management has played a vital role in the well being of my kids and so many others who have passed through those gates. Losing this facility will have imeasurable detrimental consequences on those who choose a water sport. The quality of our beaches with toxic substances make natural water site use dangerous to the health of our community. Don’t take away this resource as well.

Please keep this pool to help our children that need & want places to go and learn to be with their friends & neigbors and have a commen activity they enjoy together.
They need more places to keep their minds active like this type of activity instead of on street corners!
We need it
