Instructor Susan Picillo, an amazing teacher and wonderful contribution to the Northeastern community, was fired last week. As any student who has been taught by Instructor Picillo knows, she is one of the very best teachers at Northeastern. She is tough on her students but makes sure that every student leaves her classrooms with so much more knowledge than they came in with. Although she may not have the degree or publications that are needed for tenure, she is a highly experienced instructor in Public Communication, voice, theatre, and presentation. She is an incredibly hard-working, accessible and truly caring teacher and our campus would lose a very unique and incredible individual if we were to allow her to be fired. She is among the best, and her nomination for the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2005 and 2007 is evidence of that. We need to fight to keep her at Northeastern and show this university that instructors like Susan Picillo are at the heart of what our school really has to offer. Please sign this petition if you want Susan Picillo back at Northeastern and think that she never should have been fired in the first place.
