Melville Gates Works, Fife have applied for Planning to extend their Quarry operations on the outskirts of Ladybank, Fife. This new extension involves the removal of some 40 acres of beautiful, mature woodland and its inhabitants (Red Squirrel, Pipestrelle Bat, Deer and other species). Forestry Commision Scotland are in agreeance to this project, going against their own mission statement and their "Climate Change Action Plan 2008 - 2010" (no deforestation). Apart from these factors, there will be substantially more heavy traffic on the A92, and disruption to nearby residents of noise, dust and vibration for the 7 years of operations. PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION TO HELP STOP THIS APPLICATION BEING APPROVED. Thank you.
