Selling assets to pay for operational costs is always short-sighted. The county should buy the property to enhance/enlarge the existing park. Mecklenburg County needs to be the responsible party and save the inner-core green space.

This land is public property!!! The thought that CMS...would try to sell land that is owned by tax payers without notifying the neighborhood in which is lies...is beyond comprehension ...and the schools that we as neighborhood support! Shame on CMS and City Council for not caring about its community and ruining a neighborhood ! and the environment for children to learn grow and flourish! Such greed . We elected officials to hear our voices and represent us ...not ignore us and them! You have very upset and angry citizens!

.....what a stupid mistake it would be to sell this land and/or use it for ANYTHING other than
As a park and greenway next to an existing school!!!
...this stupid sale, will turn into an "oops, sorry ---we made a big mistake" one day real soon!!!!!!!!
...think about what -"good land use "-really means for our kids, families , neighbors, and community!!!!

This are many reasons to not destroy this beautiful land to build more town homes. I hope the politicians of this town listen to their constituents and do the right thing.

We need this open space. My family has enjoyed walking through the woods since 1986! Our sons enjoyed the trail we helped maintain. And the wildlife, the wildlife.

I oppose the sale of the land for the development of townhomes . As the area grows, so should our parks.
