I live in Sedgefield and walk through the park at least two-three times a week. It's such a great little green oasis in a city that is intent on tearing everything down to build apartments or large homes (along Ideal Way). Guess I shouldn't be surprised that a park would suffer the same fate.

Please do not sell this park. This park serves as a SAFE through-way for pedestrians and cyclists to connect the Sedgefield neighborhood to the shops on park road, and the nearby neighborhoods. This park is a crucial piece of my commute to work, to donate blood at the Red Cross Center, to get groceries at the Food Lion, and to attend networking meetings at the restaurants on East Blvd. I do this all by bicycle. I am 'one less car', reducing the traffic congestion in the area and reducing the parking requirements in my own small way. Without this park, I would be forced onto higher-speed roads, which are more dangerous and more irritating to motorists. Or I would be forced to drive, thereby increasing traffic congestion and adversely affecting my health Beyond this, my friends in the cycling community who live & work in other areas (myers park, south park, plaza, etc) use this park as part of their regular transit route by bicycle. From Park-Road Shopping Center, you can connect through the quiet neighborhoods around Park Road and get all the way to plaza-midwood...but you NEED Sedgefield park! I don't mean to take away the importance of the park as a 'green space'. Public green space is precious and should be conserved at all costs. If you pass this park in the we hours of the morning, you will see exercise groups working out. If you pass by midday you will see families playing. If you pass in the evening there are people taking a pause from their day, relaxing on the benches, or practicing their tennis swing. I know this because I have passed through this park (by bicycle) at all hours of the day as I go about my daily life. This park is a crucial green space AND a crucial piece of the non-car transit options in Charlotte. Please consider the consequences of destroying it. Thank you.

Not all neighborhood land should be developed. Green space that is free and open is essential to the well being of the neighborhood residents, including its raucous and joyful canine population. I've been to this park and its extremely important to me and my friends in the area that it stay as is. More development undoubtedly equals more money for the already rich, but a free green space equals contented communities and that's worth a great deal more in the long run (more people will settle there). People don't move to Charlotte to be boxed in by buildings and tarmac on all sides. If they wanted that, they'd live somewhere else.

Please save the community of Sedgefield with green space and school expansion rather than more densely populate with Apartments.

With the increased density of the Sedgefield neighborhood and Southend it is important to keep open space for recreation and overall quality of life. Please listen to those who will be most impacted by this decision (the current residents) and consider keeping this green space the way it is.

If CMS wants to transform a struggling middle school that just might Be severely IMPACTED by new boundaries and feeders to help eliminate overcrowding at a very popular middle school and create a new neighborhood middle school, you would think the LAST THING they would want to do is piss off the very parents that they want to help build this great new neighborhood middle school.

We need our green spaces in order to co-exist with the wild life we are rapidly displacing.

Last thing we need in this area is more apartments or condo's!

My daughter and her awesome husband live in this neighborhood. Their puppy and neighborhood puppy friends love to play in this area. Please do not stop their fun.

Please keep the puppies playground!

I own a home in the neighborhood and would really hate to see another multi-family project be built, especially taking away from our already lackluster green space.

The current roads and infrastructure are not in place to handle this project and they are not in the plans that I have read through

I live nearby and the last thing our neighborhood needs is yet another apartment complex. No!

To much construction going on in sedgefield.

I am a member of the Park Commission. I believe it is fair to say all of my Park Commission counterparts are distressed about the potential sale. We are also perplexed as to how the process that even got this far didn't include a conversation with the Park Commission.

Green space near schools and parks in the Center City is at a premium. Charlotte ranks near the bottom in valuing green space. In 20 years the population will be double and the tax payer will have to pay more to buy park land in the inner city core. We should save what we have while we still have it. Development is enhanced around green spaces.
