We Oppose the Sale of CMS land at Sedgefield Middle School

That green space should be preserved. Once it's been razed we can never get it back, and the land is better used by neighboring families and school children than another developer's townhome project.

There is too much density in our area now.. We need the green space.

I strongly oppose the sale of this land for the purpose of residential development.

I think they should find a location with abandoned buildings and recycle that already raped property. Leave this parcel be please.

I grew up in Dilworth and attended Sedgefield Jr High! It would be a true travesty to destroy this beautiful greenway!!

Charlotte needs green space more than ANOTHER new multi-unit property!

This sale is a short-sighted money grab based on interests of today and not what is best for the future of the area. Please recognize the tremendous growth experienced in the short term and its impact on the area and thus an even greater need for future common space to provide character, community, and environmental protection.

I am a property owner in the Sedgefield neighborhood. We have minimal green space as it is. The larger neighborhood does not need increased density.

Please don't sell the land.

So few places like this left inner city

This is an area that provides a brief but important respite from building after building after building. Also, walking into the park from McDonald St. would seem like walking through private property. Beats the purpose of green space.

This property needs to remain undeveloped and protected. This is a MAJOR neighborhood green space providing myriad opportunities to enjoy our precious wildlife and nature. SEDGEFIELD and SOUTHEND are overdeveloped as it is now. The destruction of this green space in favor of more high-density housing is just a greedy ploy. We must preserve this peaceful, lovely area and keep more development out. SAVE BUTTERFLY PARK!!!

The sale of this property will irreparably diminish the areas ability to adequately support great schools and local green spaces. This sale must be stopped.

We live directly next to the proposed land sale. As a Sedgefield Middle Grad, our classes used that space for science classes. As an adult I love that my child might someday study the same area. If the sale goes through, we will lose even more of our natural space.

The area immediately adjacent to the light rail is the appropriate place for higher density projects, not green space primarily surrounded by single family homes and nearly a mile from the light rail. There's plenty of land and opportunity for these projects directly adjacent to the light rail line.
