Education is a universal concern. It impacts not only the lives of our children today but also our great nation tomorrow. President Barack Obama has said that education will be a cornerstone of his Administration. Let's join together and show our Virginia leaders that as parents, grandparents, neighbors and citizens of the community, we agree and we mean business. Our Education System cannot afford further budget cuts. Most importantly, our children and their future - our future - cannot be compromised. Virginia currently ranks 37th in the nation in state revenue per pupil. We cannot come out of this recession with a smaller state commitment to public education. We expect cuts. We comprehend the degree to which this recession is reducing state revenues; however, we do not expect permanent cuts which will endure far beyond the current recession. Please help Save Our Schools by telling our leaders that the Budget for Education cannot be cut further. Please support direct funding and aid for Virginia's Public Education to ensure: 1. Reasonable class sizes 2. Quality instruction with ample resources 3. Access to technology upgrades and relevant curriculum To voice your support of quality education of our children, please respond and sign this petition. Together, we can help Save Our Schools and Save Our Future. This petition will be printed out and copies delivered to Delegate Lee Ware, Senator John Watkins and members of the Education Subcommittee on or before Tuesday, February 10, 2009. Thank you for your support!

37th? That is embarrassing for a state like ours. Spend the money on our kids instead of wasting it elsewhere.

So tired of seeing our schools struggle while they talk about big budgets and empty promises. Fix this now.
