On June 1, 2009, General Motors filed for bankruptcy protection. As part of GM's bankruptcy plan, their plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee will go on standby in November as its 3,000 employees and their families wait in limbo. Spring Hill was built on the jobs that the plant provides. The Spring Hill plant currently builds the Chevrolet Traverse, which GM has identified in its cost cutting plan to move production of the Traverse to Lansing, Michigan. Tennessee officials have been very public in their support for the GM plant in Spring Hill. In addition to the work being done by the Tennessee elected officials and economic development organizations, this grassroots movement is geared toward raising awareness and support for the selection of Spring Hill for the production of another quality GM vehicle. If you support our efforts to keep this plant producing quality vehicles, please add your signature below. NOTICE: THIS PETITION IS FREE TO SIGN. Seeing this kind of movement brings me right back to the dinner table where my family first talked about what life would look like if the gates closed for good. This momentum feels like a lifeline for our neighbors who have put their heart and soul into this plant for years.

My father put thirty years into that plant and seeing the gates go quiet is breaking my heart. We are almost at one thousand names but we need to reach that milestone today to show the executives that our town is not giving up without a fight.

GM seriously needs to look at the workforce they have in TN. We build great cars here. Dont pull the plug on us.

Lansing has enough stuff already. Leave the work where the people are loyal and have the experience.

The families in this town depend on that plant. Moving it would ruin the whole community. Do the right thing.
