Please fully fund this wonderful place. I know no other place in Austin that displays such wonderful changing exhibits that include things such as rare textiles, and so many other artifacts displaying how people actually lived day-to-day lives, along side the incredible dinosaurs, local fauna, gun exhibits, and precious gems.

I hope all of my friends will sign this petition to save the Texas Memorial Museum. The TMM is a gem for the UT and greater Austin community. I was privileged enough to work there for nearly 4 years and witness the priceless 'ah-ha!' moments children have there. The museum, its mission, and purpose in the community should not be overlooked. I'm saddened by the decision to cut funding. Hopefully, Dean Hicke will recognize the importance of saving the TMM.

Visiting this museum was one of the highlights of my childhood. It supported my lifelong love of science and learning, and was one of the first places I went to after becoming a graduate of UT Austin.

I grew up going to this museum. I found it absolutely fascinating. I now have three children. They loved talking to people about the rocks they've found and looking at the fossils and gems. I have chaperoned field trips there too. Please find a way to save this incredible resource.

This is one of the premier natural history museums in the US. I used the collection extensively as a graduate student. This is an institution that Texas should be proud of, and it's shocking to me that there is even the possibilty of funding being cut for such an important museum.

Our museum at the University of Oregon is still recovering from a similar funding cut made in th early 1970s. Such decisions can have dramatic negative impacts on Natural Science research and outreach for decades.

The Texas Memorial Museum is absolutely vital to the maintenance of UT geoscience at its current lofty position. Cutting funds to the museum is cutting the legs out from under the university's science programs.
